From the publisher:

Scotland On This Day chronicles the story of Scottish international football. With individual diary entries for every day of the year, the book is full of heroes (and villains) and tells the tales of the matches, characters, tournaments and managers that have helped shape the story of Scottish international football. From the world's first international against England in 1872 and Home Championship victories to World Cup heartaches and the tale of the Tartan Army, Scotland On This Day covers all the major stories.

The author:

Derek Wilson was born in Hamilton in 1982 and his footballing life began, aged four, supporting Motherwell. Scotland became an influence in 1989 with the high of qualifying for the World Cup against Norway, although like many of his generation the relative good times of the 1990s were only fully appreciated when they were gone. Being based in Berlin makes attending Scotland games a haphazard task but many journeys across Europe are still made to back the team whenever possible. The author presently works as a freelance writer and has already written Motherwell FC On This Day and Motherwell FC Miscellany, previously published by Pitch Publishing. He can be contacted via: derek.wilson@sportwriter.eu.
