Despite its title, which translates into English as 'When he was violent', this book is neither about violence nor a celebration of it. The title comes from a beautiful and unexpected story revealed in the book.

Stefano Carloni is a Milan-based photographer, born and raised in the city in 1992. A lifelong football enthusiast with a particular interest in subcultures, he has explored these subjects through his photography for many years. His work has led him to collaborate with major football clubs such as Juventus, AS Roma, Bari, ACF Fiorentina and Inter Milan, as well as with renowned players including Gianluigi Buffon and Paulo Dybala. Quando era un violento is his first book.
