Goalkeepers: England 1955–1979

We don’t publish many football books, and when we do, they tend to be about the culture of football and the fans, rather than the game itself. Popperfoto contacted us a few years ago with this body of work taken by Wally and Howard Talbot, from Blackburn. The timing and composition of these images, made with mechanical cameras, is extraordinary. With match-detail captions throughout, taken from the original negatives.
