This is an articulated exhibition project that kicks off with the unfolding of the European football championship and which will be open to the public in the spaces of the Museum in Cinisello Balsamo-Milan from Saturday 12 June to Sunday 24 October 2021.

The exhibition investigates the role of football in Italian culture by presenting an overview of its presence in society, landscape, memory and culture in our country. The protagonists of the exhibition will be the works of over twenty artists of different generations, disciplines and languages - including photographs, installations and videos - presented in dialogue with the Museum's collections, some recent artistic productions, collections of anthropological images, participatory projects.

The exhibition Chi non salta analyzes the game of football in relation to the construction of individual identity - the formation of the person, the sense of the group, the team - but also to a more collective dimension, where cheering helps to define the sense of belonging. and at the same time it provides a representation that is always in tension between two poles: the worlds of “actors” and “spectators”, of daily practice and of more or less organized cheering.

Starting from this suggestion, the exhibition opens with an introduction dedicated to the relationship between art and football and then continues with two main sections: watched football, as cheering and the representation of a collective identity in the room on the first floor; football played, as a practice, a moment of meeting and training on the second floor. The articulated and dynamic exhibition project is completed by an outdoor exhibition dedicated to football in the city of Cinisello Balsamo, the result of a special project produced for the occasion and a specific and participatory research activity carried out in the area.
