From the publisher:
Forgotten Clubs of North Shropshire documents the lost association football clubs that existed in the northern part of Shropshire between 1870 and 1914, particularly in the areas bordering Wrexham, including Oswestry, Whitchurch, and Ellesmere.
The work has been researched entirely from primary sources, with the majority of material drawn from Victorian and Edwardian newspaper archives. It provides detailed accounts of nearly 100 clubs that once operated in the region, many of which have long since disappeared from the historical record.
In addition to individual club histories, the book includes comprehensive cup records and a collection of historic league tables, offering a broader statistical and competitive context for the development of football in North Shropshire during its formative years.
