From the publisher:
In 1993 Millwall moved from their famous old Den home of 83 years to a purpose-built stadium. They were one of the first clubs to relocate, a move made not just out of necessity to meet new stadium safety regulations in the wake of the Bradford and Hillsborough stadium disasters, but to bring the club into the modern era and allow it to regain its place in English football’s top flight.
As is often the case with Millwall, it didn’t quite go to plan.
This is the story of the first thirty years at The Den. A stadium which, despite being the club’s home for over three decades now, some sections of the sport and its media still insist on calling ‘The New Den’.
This book takes a look at each of those 30 seasons and picks out a notable match from each. No mean task when dealing with the rollercoaster fortunes of Millwall FC.
