From the publisher:

The Revolution of 1958 broke the shackles of the Cold War military alliance of the Baghdad Pact with the Western powers and under the new Republic led by Iraq’s leader Abdul-Karim Qasim, two Iraqi football teams, one formed of military footballers and the other civilian toured Eastern Europe and Far East Asia. The team featuring Ammo Baba and Youra Eshaya formed the basis of Iraq’s first Olympic football team which entered the 1960 Olympic qualifiers, symbolising its entrance into the international football community.
