From the publisher:

Don’t Take Me Home is a stylish black and white photo series by photographer Harry Flaherty that documents England fans in Manchester supporting the national team during World Cup 2018, Euro 2020, World Cup 2022 and Euro 24.

The limited edition A5 zine contains 44 photographs across 52 pages.

England under Gareth Southgate heralded a period of stability, consistency and belief that supporters had been craving for decades.

No silverware, but a silver lining provided by a string of positive results that, in four consecutive tournaments, united the country.

Semi-finals and finals were the norm. Scenes of celebration were commonplace, and as the team and its fans dreamed big, big cities had big parties, none more so than in football crazy Manchester.

“My camera is drawn to the ecstasy of the crowd, my photos taken with a wide angle lens, right in the face of the fans, deep within the crowds, interacting with just about every single person featured in the photos, rather than from the safety of a voyeuristic long lens from across the road.” Harry Flaherty

A Sheffield Wednesday fan from birth but now living in Manchester, for Flaherty documenting England fans was to become a labour of love that brought with it an eventual realisation that his pictures were forming part of a unique record. “A cultural time capsule of the nation at that time,” as he perfectly puts it.
