Augusto César Lendoiro is synonymous with the rise and glory of Deportivo La Coruña, having served as the club’s president for a 25-year tenure from 1988 to 2014. Under his leadership, Deportivo experienced unprecedented success, ascending from the lower tiers of Spanish football to become a formidable force in La Liga and on the European stage.
Lendoiro’s shrewd management and astute transfer dealings played a pivotal role in shaping what became known as Depor’s golden era, which culminated in the club clinching their first and only La Liga title in the 1999-2000 season,
As president, his ambitious projects saw the renovation of the modern Estadio Riazor and the establishment of Deportivo as a household name in Spanish football.
