From the publisher:

Betzenberg 100 Jahre zwischen Himmel und Hölle:

A legend turns 100. The Fritz Walter Stadium on the Betzenberg is celebrating a big anniversary in May 2020. Dominic Bold tells the story of the stadium from the barren clay court to the World Cup venue, illustrated by plenty of pictures, including many previously unpublished.

Based on 100 votes - fans, players, officials, journalists, politicians and even the Bishop of Speyer tell their own personal experiences - the team of authors explores what makes this stadium, which has been feared for decades, so unique.

The author:

Dominic Bold, born in 1975, has been a fan of 1. FC Kaiserslautern for as long as he can remember. This passion led him across Germany and Europe. But nowhere has he experienced football more intensely than on the Betzenberg, in the immediate vicinity of which he lives in Kaiserslautern and works as a teacher at the Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium.

Eric Lindon is American. Born in 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, he has lived in Kaiserslautern since 1994. He is a retired Air Force major with a Masters in International Affairs from Troy State University, Alabama. He is an avid FCK fan and hobby sports historian. His pre-war research on Palatinate sports clubs goes back to 1816. He is on the board of the “Palatinate Sports History eV” (Palatinate Sports Association) and “Initiative Passion FCK - Fritz-Walter-Museum Kaiserslautern eV”. For his research, he was awarded the Bronze Merit Pin by 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 2014 and the Bronze Pin of Honor in 2015 by the Palatinate Sports Association.
