The story of Coventry City’s long-awaited return to the Premier League – a 25-year journey finally completed in unforgettable style.
Relegated in 2001 after 34 consecutive years in the top flight, Coventry City expected a swift return. Instead, the club endured a generation of struggle: relegations, administration and years spent playing away from their home city. At times, a return to the Premier League felt further away than ever.
In 2025/26, everything changed. Under Frank Lampard, Coventry City surged to the Championship title, scoring freely and sweeping aside the competition to end a 25-year exile. Back At Last tells the full story of that remarkable season and the road that led there, featuring:
- The dramatic rise of Frank Lampard’s Coventry side, whose attacking football delivered goals, points and a dominant title win
- The story of a club rebuilt after years of instability, from administration and exile to renewed optimism and success
- Exclusive insight from key figures including Steve Ogrizovic, Liam Kelly, Dave Boddy and Michael Doyle
- Detailed accounts of the defining matches and moments that shaped a record-breaking campaign
- The off-the-pitch turning points, including the deal that brought the CBS Arena back under Coventry City’s control
A fascinating account of a club’s long road home, and the season that finally brought Coventry City back where they belong.
